My journey into interior design began at an early age. As a child, I was captivated by the diversity of the homes I visited. I loved to imagine how people lived in their spaces and often wondered how I would design them differently. This curiosity grew over time, leading me to enroll in AutoCAD classes in high school, where I honed my skills in reading, drawing, and rendering house plans. It was then that I knew I wanted to pursue a career in interior design, and I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in 2008.
I have worked with cabinet manufacturers and kitchen and bath designers. My senior internship was with Merillat Cabinets. I then went on to spend two years in Juneau, Alaska providing kitchen and bath design services at the local hardware store. I returned to Michigan in 2010 to work for a wholesale supplier. I played an integral role in designing the Lansing Showroom there. My passion for design continued to grow, expanding my knowledge beyond materials and into installation and enhancing my client relations skills at a retail showroom in Brighton, MI.
In 2023, Yancy Interior Design was born, and now, in 2025, I am excited to focus on my passion as Yancy Kitchen & Bath. This new chapter has allowed me to embrace a lifelong dream and has been a continuous learning experience. I am proud to say that this journey motivates me every day. I believe that each home should be designed to fit each individuals lifestyle, where they can truly be, where they can truly be their best selves—somewhere they will love more each year as memories are made. I am dedicated to quality, craftsmanship, and the art of design in every home I am fortunate enough to work on, and I hope you will let me be a part of yours.
